Archeological Dig in Fiji 2107

In a 100 years from now

National Geographic Magazine will have the following article on Fiji

An archeological team, digging in Delainabua, Fiji, has uncovered the 100 year old bones and fossil remains of what is believed to be Fiji's first Military Dictator. However debate rages over whether the remains could also be any one of those of the Dictator's puppet administrators involved with him at the time.

ROFL !!! Vinaka vinaka.

I guess we've reached the limit of our patience and tolerance for such imbeciles like the dictator. I know I have.

This helps with the stress release.

Vinaka vinaka.

Ragone - as you know humour is is the Fijian way of COPING with stressful situations - which has at its heart - preservation of self and sanity. Truly subversive humour exposes certain truths known by everybody but that everybody keeps quiet about (e.g what Bainimarama's real intentions are).

Na i vakalasalasa goes around censorship and speaks the unspoken truth in a subtle but subversive fashion, as pointing out these truths in "polite" or "proper" conversation topics is not on these days not knowing who we can trust. While Bainimarama and his cronies won´t admit their imperfections, the kisitoni will laugh about them, making them visible.

The kisitoni wields no weapon an is therefore harder to kill . Thats why I LOVE reading Allen Lockington's letters - he is a very good kisitoni - keep writing Allen - we are missing your letters.

While the army goons are warning those who speak directly against authority, the kisitoni is subtle and his humour exposes the lie we are currently and constantly living in. Explaining in words how this illegal junta is oppressing us can be tiresome, but humour has a way of explaining things and making heads nod.

Remember this as you sit around your kapa draunimoli's - humour is the gun of he who hates gun and authority trembles under the gun of humour .

thanks for the comments discombobulated .. its good to know that my letters are appriciated. However, I have been writing the same kind of letters that I wrote during normalcy or should that normality (what ever!!) but only a seletion is printed. Maybe its not a good time to say too much but I'm sure the guys at the camp appriciate the suggestions as I have written direct to them. Maybe its better to write about the potholes and craters and canyons and dried up river beds that line our roads.

Here is one for you - how to tell if a pothole is big? Yell into it and you get an echo.
